TAS was founded in early half of 2019 and incorporated as a not-for-profit organization. TAS's mission is to identify and address social, cultural and educational needs of Sutton borough’s Telugu Community in particular and Telugu people in general.

Our Mission is to develop, nurture and preserve the Telugu culture in and around Sutton.

Vision

We are driven on the
principle of “Giving back to community” by playing an active role in charity, cultural and educational
activities contributing to the welfare of Telugu and other local communities in Sutton.

OBJECTIVES OF THE ASSOCIATION 

The core objective of TAS is to further the social, cultural, educational, scientific,charitable pursuits of the Telugu speaking people of Sutton. The specific objectives are:
- To promote, advance, organise and assist the cultural, literary, educational, socio-economic, health, and community affairs of Telugu people living in Sutton area.
- To organise periodic Telugu literary, educational, sporting and cultural events, either independently or in co-operation with other associations.
- To assist people of Telugu origin in need, and aid new arrivals of Telugu origin to settle and assimilate with the mainstream in Sutton.
- To serve local communities and encourage Telugu youth to actively engage in local humanitarian and social pursuits, and to foster collaboration and friendship within Telugu community in particular, and with local communities in general.
- To promote awareness of Telugu culture, customs and traditions among Telugu youth, and preserve, maintain, and promote the social and cultural heritage of Telugu people living in the Sutton Area.
- Raise, solicit, collect and disburse funds and donations for cultural, educational and charitable purposes either directly or in cooperation with other not-for-profit organisations in the UK and other countries
